Updated the Technical Guide for the use of Personal Protective Equipment
Recently the INSST has updated the Technical Guide for the use of personal protective equipment by workers which facilitates the application of Royal Decree 773/1997, of May 30, on minimum health and safety provisions related to the use of personal protective equipment by workers, modified by Royal Decree 1076/2021, of December 7.
The need for this update arises in order to incorporate the regulatory changes that affect the design and manufacturing of PPE that are marketed in the European Union on the occasion of the entry into force of Regulation (EU) 2016/425 regarding personal protective equipment, as well as those modifications derived from the publication of Royal Decree 1076/2021, of December 7.
In this latest edition, it is worth highlighting as the most relevant aspects the updating of Annexes I, II and III, in order to guarantee coherence with the risk classification as well as harmonization with the terminology and types of PPE, and the updating of all the content of Appendix 2 in relation to the new provisions established in Regulation (EU) 2016/425, especially with regard to essential health and safety requirements and procedures conformity assessment of PPE.
