Use of drones in the inspection of an overhead power line
The use of drones in the world of work is becoming more and more common, but their use requires compliance, not only with labor regulations, but also with aeronautical safety regulations, and their use can also generate new risks that must be identified and controlled to guarantee the safety and health of workers.
In our country, its professional use is increasingly frequent and represents a reduction in time and costs in carrying out certain activities compared to the conventional way of carrying it out. Furthermore, its use can provide a preventive advantage by eliminating or reducing the exposure of workers to certain risks that, if they materialize, could have serious and even fatal consequences.
To provide information on this matter, the INSST has recently published the Prevention Technical Note entitled: "Drones: use in the inspection of an overhead power line" in which presents a practical case that uses a drone for the inspection of an overhead power line, detailing the preventive and aeronautical requirements that must be met to carry out the work in a way that guarantees safety and health.
In Fraternidad-Muprespa we work to reduce the workplace accidents of mutual members and in this video You can learn about all the preventive activities and advice that we carry out for our associates.
