We celebrate World Road Safety Day with the Junta de Andalucía
World Road Safety Day is celebrated on June 10, an excellent occasion to remember that trauma and injuries caused by road traffic are one of the main causes of disability and death around the world.
To commemorate this day, on June 6, the finale to the celebration of five days under the title “Road Safety: Park the distractions” took place at the Occupational Risk Prevention Center of Seville on June 6. Framed within the actions of the Occupational Road Safety Week of large number of professionals in human resources, occupational risk prevention and road safety. The total capacity has been more than 300 people and 33 impacts have been achieved in the digital and written press.
In addition to the active participation of Safety, MOVIAM, Fundación CNAE and the expert witness Miriam Moya.
The common thread has been distractions as the main recurring factor in road accidents, which also accounts for 33% of fatal road accidents. During the interventions, the speakers focused on the human factor. Specifically, the following have been addressed: the consequences of road accidents, the mobile phone as the main distracting agent, the improvement of mindfulness through healthy habits, risk perception, beliefs and attitudes, awareness, the integration of mobility plans and the analysis of causes to prevent accidents.
From Fraternidad-Muprespa, we take advantage of this day to highlight that mobility must be safe, healthy and sustainable. To contribute to this objective, we develop awareness-raising actions that allow road culture to be integrated into organizations.
According to closed data from INSST of year 2022, traffic accidents account for 11.3% of total work accidents with sick leave. In terms of severity, 27.3% of the total deaths are due to traffic.
As a result of this work, we have recently been awarded by the Junta de Extremadura for the outstanding work carried out in the promotion of road safety.
Another of the notable actions in this Road Safety Week took place at the end of May. INFOVA/ Champions for Safety has organized at the Karting by Carlos Sainz Las Rozas (Madrid) two days in which seven mutual companies nationwide participated.
All these types of actions reflect that public-private alliances contribute to improving road safety both inside and outside of work.
Together we add life
