What is Vision Zero?

Vision Zero is the new global campaign of the International Social Security Association ( ISSA ) in favor of zero accidents, illnesses and injuries at work, which has also been joined by the EU-OSHA , European Agency for Safety and Health at Work. The campaign seeks to promote a preventive culture in organizations.

This new way of understanding prevention is situated in the “third wave of preventive effort”, which as a culmination of the two previous stages focused on technology and risk management, now places people at the central axis of the strategy aimed at designing and sustaining work with zero harm to health.

• Vision Zero is valid for any entity, organization, sector of activity and size.

The Vision Zero strategy is based on transformation through the integration of the three dimensions of safety, health and well-being at all levels , in the conviction that the well-being of collaborators leads to the reduction of damage.

• Vision Zero , is flexible and can be adapted to the specific needs and priorities of each company.

• Vision Zero does not establish obligations, has no deadlines, or audits.

The special group for ORP belonging to the ISSA (International Social Security Association), recognizes the effort and dedication made by ISSA and Vision Zero, we would like to thank you for your great efforts in disseminating and initiating Vision Zero, and based on the data provided by the ILO (International Labor Organization, ILO) which estimates that at least 2.78 million workers die annually from work-related injuries and illnesses, we believe that this can significantly affect the financial sustainability of organizations and economies globally.

Instead, we maintain that social protection can be affordable, that is.
