Alternatives to the PPE shortage

The document that we are going to talk about next has been approved by the group of experts that forms the Presentation of Occupational Health. This document belongs to the Ministry of Health in collaboration with the Ministry of Work and Social Economy. It must be taken into account that its content may vary depending on the new information and data that become known about the new coronavirus infection (SARS-COV-2). These strategies must be evaluated before their exceptional application. 

The objective of this document is to provide options or alternatives in cases in which the epis are so limited that existing recommendations cannot be followed.

We know that the most effective way to prevent the transmission of the virus is to use a combination of all preventive measures, not just limiting ourselves to epis. 

EPIS in general

• Give FP3 masks to exposed personnel.
• To less exposed personnel, give surgical masks and maintain distance.

It is about saving resources in a limited period of time due to the state of alarm and crisis in which we find ourselves, in a normal state we would not be considering these measures.
