Fraternidad-Muprespa participates in the SETLA webinar on Tendinopathies and therapeutic exercise
On Saturday, May 7, the Spanish Society of Occupational Traumatology, SETLA, has held another of its interesting webinar, on this occasion the star topic has been tendinopathies from the point of view of essential professionals in the recovery of patients who present this type of pathologies, such as physiotherapists and occupational therapists.
On behalf of and Sara Calderón Cabiró, ___HTMLTAG40__ _fisiotherapist of the main Barcelona delegation.
Jesús Gallardo Moreno has presented the paper on "Therapeutic exercise in cuff tendinopathy of the rotators" highlighting that in this type of shoulder pathology, scapular exercises are a key piece in shoulder rehabilitation.
Also during his intervention, Jesús explained how flywheel exercises have a certain contribution to improvement when it comes to gaining strength.
After analyzing more than 10 publications by leading authors such as Jeremy Lewis, Deborah L. Greenberg, Kelton M Burbank, Hiroki saito... we can affirm that therapeutic shoulder exercise in tendon pathology is at least as beneficial as surgery.
To conclude his presentation he illustrated the exercises that can be done to train the shoulder through a series of videos.
For its part Sara Calderón Cabiró, ___has started its exhibition about “Therapeutic exercise in quadricipital and patella” reviewing the biomechanics of the knee itself, a joint that supports up to 1.5 times the body weight when walking and more than twice as much when running, in this way Sara highlighted that “In patellar and quadriceps tendinopathies we must look beyond the quadriceps.”
Sara has continued explaining the factors that influence this type of pathology and the need for active rehabilitation on the part of the patient to bring us closer to success.
It is important for tendinopathies in the anterior area of the knee, to train the work gesture while activating the core, thus obtaining stabilization central.
With this idea, Sara highlighted how after achieving adequate joint and muscle balance, the improvement of proprioceptive and neuromuscular control should be addressed, thus strengthening the recovery of the injury through therapeutic exercise of the limb, but also the core muscles, which is the center of gravity of the body and is responsible for transferring the necessary force from the largest segments to the smallest during any movement.
Our colleague concluded the presentation by explaining that “through therapeutic exercise, we improve muscle, joint and stabilizer_of the knee, dreduces the risk of relapse, increases the chance of shortening the IT and ___we can educate the worker in a work gesture correct”.
