The names Fraternidad-Muprespa and Prevent are united in many ways. The dissemination of good preventive practices is the axis on which a good part of its activities pivot, and also its reason for existing. They are also united because in 2016 the Mutual Fund received the Prevent Award in the category of “Communication in Occupational Risk Prevention” for the work carried out in the I Prevention Week.

Natalia Fernández The event had more than 75 live viewers, to talk about leadership prevention and the consequences that the Covid-19 health crisis has had on this issue.

The deputy director of the Mutua has insisted on the importance that occupational risk prevention professionals have had and will have at this stage, despite being a job that often goes unnoticed. With a Prevention Law that is now 25 years old, and which in their opinion could be subject to some revision, it is the preventionists who achieve work environments that comply with the current safety measures for workers. This is why Natalia Fdez. Laviada considers that they should be positioned “at the top.” A recognition that is linked to a clear philosophy: “We have to take care of people, it is our main value, they are not only productive units.”

Every May 12, International Nurses Day is celebrated around the world. This year the date is even more special since in February 2019 the World Health Organization declared that 2020 would be the Year of Nursing and Midwives. According to its institutional statement, for the WHO, nurses and midwives play “a crucial role in the provision of health services, as they dedicate their lives to caring for mothers and children, administering life-saving vaccines, providing health advice, caring for the elderly and, in general, meeting essential day-to-day health needs.”

When 2020 was declared the Year of Nursing, we were very far from imagining that we would experience an extreme situation in the midst of an unimaginable pandemic that has had healthcare personnel as the main protagonist.

On behalf of all of them, we spoke with the nursing director of the Fraternidad-Muprespa Havana Hospital, Caridad Amador, in a conversation that highlights the importance of the role of nursing at

The ancient Egyptians thought that demons and evil spirits were the cause of infections and that only witchcraft and magic could keep them away.

Was Hippocrates who refuted the idea that diseases were a divine punishment and advocated the irrigation of wounds with wine or boiling water, something that Galen continued to do, who also boiled the instruments with which he cured gladiators.

In 1683 Antonj de Leeuwenhoeck developed the microscope and found some small bugs, compatible with what, two centuries later,Louis Pasteur called microorganisms, establishing a microbial theory as responsible for contracting certain diseases. He began to develop disinfection and sterilization processes that were expanded in 1881 thanks to the German doctor Robert Koch, creator of the first sterilizer with pressureless steam flow.

Why do we do all this review of the history of asepsis? Well, to tell in this new episode of Podcast FM what the great unknown that is sterilization consists of at the Fraternidad-Muprespa Havana Hospital.

Digital Evolution

1x05: Digital Evolution

FM Podcast 1x05

In a hyperconnected, agile and changing world, Fraternidad-Muprespa has the maxim that patients, mutual companies, protected workers, suppliers and collaborators keep us very close because that is the best way to provide optimal service. Digitalization is a fundamental aspect to achieve this and that is what we are going to talk about today with Pedro Serrera, deputy director general of information systems and services.

Digital transformation is not only about continuing to incorporate technology, but also about implementing a transversal change, which affects all areas of the organization, along a planned and executed path within the Mutua's III Strategic Plan. While in many areas we talk about digital transformation, at our Mutual we talk about digital evolution and putting our two decades of experience at the service of people.

At Fraternidad-Muprespa we seek to help you and provide you with access to tools designed to eradicate anxiety, facing the new year that begins.
