The Spanish Green Growth Group (GECV) has presented “34 Cases of Green Economy”, a publication that is the letter of introduction of this economy, within the context of the European Green Deal.

The cases included in the document come from 34 GECV companies, among which is Fraternidad-Muprespa, a member of the Group since 2016, and serve to visualize and make tangible with figures and data, a model that has ceased to be a future objective and is now a current and necessary reality.

The set of examples provided is heterogeneous and shows the wide variety of approaches with which Spanish companies are decisively committed to the green economy, such as BBVA, Enagás, Endesa, Grupo Tragsa, Iberia, PwC, Renfe or Telefónica, although this commitment is independent of the size or sector of activity of the companies. organizations.

Our case is based on the achievement of the LEED Healthcare Platinum certification for the building of the Hospital sustainable buildings from an environmental point of view, which represents energy savings equivalent to 43% compared to a reference building.

In addition, the Mutua has reduced GHG emissions by 83.5% in the rest of its centers. This achievement has been possible thanks to the implementation of different actions, highlighting, among others, the consumption of electricity from renewable energies, the certification of the ISO 14001 standard, the verification of the carbon footprint and the promotion and awareness in the culture of environmental sustainability in all Fraternidad-Muprespa centers.

The 34 initiatives are proof that sustainable growth, far from being an obstacle to economic development, is a source of improved competitiveness and opportunities, job creation and prosperity, which brings environmental and economic benefits not only to the companies that promote it, but to society in general.
