A conference at ICASEL brings together experts to promote healthy psychosocial environments at work
The Canarian Institute of Occupational Safety (ICASEL) held the day on April 30 in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria technique “Moving towards a healthy psychosocial environment at work”, a meeting that brought together about 70 professionals and that had the participation ion of Fraternidad-Muprespa, within the activities of your XI Prevention Week, under the motto“Circular Security: the commitment that unites us all”.
The opening was carried out by Carlos Macho, provincial director of Fraternidad-Muprespa in Las Palmas, and Elirerto Manuel Galván, director of ICASEL, who highlighted the importance of continuing to strengthen the preventive culture in the workplace and reinforced their commitment to the promotion of mental health and the prevention of psychosocial risks.
The first intervention, by Aleida Mª Hernández, of ICASEL focused on the essential role of public policies in protecting mental health. He also recalled that guaranteeing safe and healthy work environments is an institutional commitment, not a voluntary choice.
Next,Javier Sanchez, Prevention consultant at Fraternidad-Muprespa, addressed the gender and diversity perspective as key elements to build inclusive work spaces. He stressed that equity and respect for the identity of each person are essential pillars for a psychosocially healthy environment.
For his part, the teacher Heriberto Rodríguez, from the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, analyzed the direct relationship between psychological health and work effectiveness. His presentation showed that properly managing psychosocial factors not only improves worker well-being, but also boosts productivity and organizational performance.
The day concluded with a dynamic workshop given by Alejandro Quintana, consultant for Fraternidad-Muprespa, titled “The art of managing conflicts and not dying trying.” Through practical exercises, attendees explored tools to transform conflicts into opportunities for collective growth, reinforcing the importance of communication and emotional management in the work environment.
