Fraternidad-Muprespa colabora con Prevencionar en la celebración de SafetyTalks, el itinerario formativo creado por la web de divulgación de la prevención de riesgos laborales, para impulsar una comunicación efectiva en esta disciplina.

Rafael Delgado, Prevention consultant at Fraternidad-Muprespa in Córdoba is the main speaker in this cycle, which will be distributed in five sessions, one monthly.

The first of them, with the title “Positive communication”, offers a practical and accessible reflection on how to improve interpersonal communication from a constructive approach. Throughout the session, Delgado focuses on the importance of structuring a process so that the message successfully reaches its objective.

The fundamental principle is that communication does not reside in what is said, but in what is activated in the nervous system of the interlocutor.", he assures, adding that the human brain evaluates stimuli before processing them cognitively. "Therefore", he adds, "If a message activates a state of alert (sympathetic system), the recipient's reasoning ability drastically decreasesTo mitigate this effect, Delgado proposes a methodology of three mandatory sequential steps:

  1. Regulation: for the emotional stabilization of oneself and the recipient.
  2. Connection: in order to establish a bond of trust and validation.
  3. Message: transmission of information (spoken or written) once the way has been paved.

During the webinar, the neuroscientific bases, emotional management techniques and practical strategies to transform communication into a prevention and leadership tool were also synthesized.

According to the prevention consultant, positive communication is the key to avoiding accidents and improving the organizational climate. By treating communication as a biological and structured process, regulating the nervous system, connecting emotionally and delivering a strategic message, it is guaranteed that information not only arrives, but is accepted and executed.

By way of conclusion of the day, which ended with a question-and-answer session from the attendees, Delgado summarized that ““In health and safety, the way we communicate can make a difference”.
