Ergonomics and combating a sedentary lifestyle focus a day with the presence of Fraternidad-Muprespa
One of the great challenges that health and people management departments face is adapting to the changes produced by ergonomics and a sedentary lifestyle. Both aspects were the subject of the second Wellbeing Breakfast of this 2019, organized by My Company is Healthy at the Castellana Azca workspace in Lexington, in Madrid, which hosted this meeting.
Natalia Fdez. Laviada, Deputy Director of Prevention, Quality and Communication at Fraternidad-Muprespa, was one of the professionals present at this event, in which the insurance company Grupo Liberty was also represented, through Pilar Sandia, Prevention technician, and Fellowes, on whose behalf he intervened Arturo Da Silva, Business Development Manager of the company dedicated to office ergonomics.
Fernández Laviada highlighted the importance of taking a leap in health and safety towards well-being and reviewed the initiatives offered by He also spoke of the risk that is run if prevention technicians and those responsible for occupational health and safety do not begin to better communicate plans and actions using all the channels that new technologies offer us.
The need to review the approach to ergonomics is given, according to Arturo da Silva, by the changes that have occurred in the last 20 years. Statistics managed by Fellowes reflect that only 11% of people say they have not had back problems recently. He also pointed out the need for a change of mentality in the company by trying to solve problems at their source, with appropriate tools, combining health and productivity.
Pilar Sandia reviewed the work of Grupo Liberty in recent years to improve its ergonomics and to achieve a more active workforce. In 2012 this company defined a new corporate culture. This materialized in its headquarters, which went from being compartmentalized and having difficult access to being more open spaces, with more light and better ergonomics.
