Fraternidad-Muprespa details risk prevention before the confectioners' union in Oviedo

Fraternidad-Muprespa, Mutual Collaborator with Social Security, attended as a guest of the Guild of Confectionery Artisans of the Principality of Asturias the informative day "Occupational risks in the confectionery, pastry and bakery sector. New challenges". The event took place at the Guild's headquarters in Oviedo and its president, Alberto Díaz, was in charge of opening and presenting the event. 

The Mutua Prevention technicians, José Beltrán and Iván Fernández described the occupational risks of the sector, especially those related to the new techniques used in the pastry sector, such as the use of liquid nitrogen, molecular gastronomy, the Isi siphon or the blowtorch, their consequences, prevention and good work habits. First aid recommendations and actions to deal with small accidents typical of the activity were also offered. 

Also during the day, the importance of food safety, food handling, food conservation and the allergic pathology known as baker's asthma were highlighted. Several practical cases of accidents in the sector and control measures to be adopted were presented. The event concluded with a question time in which attendees participated very actively.
