Santiago Todo Eraso  He has a degree in Law from the University of Barcelona and a diploma in Tax Consulting, Payroll and Social Security from the Department of Labor of the Generalitat of Catalonia. He began his business career in 1989 practicing as a lawyer in Barcelona and in 1993 he also began to perform administrative manager functions.

In this interview he tells us what his professional journey has been like since his beginnings, and the most important keys to his day-to-day life.

In 1989 you registered as a lawyer in Barcelona. Can you tell us what the beginnings were like? More than 30 years have passed since then. How has your professional development evolved in recent times?

MI registered as a lawyer in 1989, but in the agency it was about n especially transportation and traffic issues and until 1983 the topic of tax advice was practically not touched upon. Labor advice and management began in 1993.

There have been many changes, since at the beginning, telematic procedures were not carried out and the computer was used sporadically. The payrolls and TC1 and TC2 were done by hand. This computer topic alone marks a before and after.

In addition, the treatment with the Administration has also changed a lot, especially in recent years, in which the documentary presentation is done online and not in person as it was until shortly before the COVID19 pandemic. This has benefited in terms of a that The processing has been expedited, but on the other hand has been lost in he human treatment.

Since 1993 you have also worked as an administrative manager. What is the “star topic” that has been presented to you lately in this field? Is dealing with the Administration easy for you? What would you improve?

There are several star topics, but at a labor level what we do most is advice and management of payroll, registrations and terminations, although recently clients have begun to request retirement issues.

As I have mentioned before, dealing with the Administration is good, but I think that having to do it everything electronically sometimes poses a problem, since what is specific and requires some data or criteria from the  Administration is usually slow (when done electronically) and I would be good that also for certain topics there was the contact in person at a professional level.

LexNet began operating in 2004. What are the advantages and disadvantages of this tool for your work?

It is a legal platform for filing claims, which  It may be good but I do not consider it effective, in case of filing lawsuits for LexNet we have to file the after in three days  in paper format and that does not speed up the work.

We are faced with a recent labor reform, what has this radical change in the types of employment contracts meant for your group? Do you think that the labor reform is appropriate and was necessary? Do you think that the drop in unemployment that we currently have is a consequence of the labor reform?

I think reducing the n ú group of contracts , In principle it is good, although I consider that ú It's not too early to see the results. In any case, the temporary contract would have to be maintained for several groups.

I think that the current labor reform does not differ much from the previous one and ú I have not seen the advantages and disadvantages, this will be seen over time.

On the other hand,  I think that l The drop in unemployment has nothing to do with labor reform. It is a market issue, because regardless of the labor reform, if the market needs workers, unemployment will go down and if the economy does not work, unemployment will go up. This can be neutralized by increasing the hiring of civil servants or labor from the Administration itself.

There are currently sectors with a lot of job offers and few job seekers, such as hospitality and construction. Do you think this will become a problem in the medium term?

Both hospitality and construction are two very particular sectors, and in ca d There is a different casuistry for one of them. For example, in hospitality it is not the same to talk about a city restaurant as it is about a seasonal, night-time, leisure bar...

In the case of construction, a construction company that is dedicated to the activity of renovations, which would normally function as a company in another sector, is not the same as a construction company that is dedicated to new construction, in this case the work is finished and does not need personnel until new construction.

How is your deal with mutual insurance companies? and with Fraternidad-Muprespa?

In our case, the treatment with the mutual companies in general is very good, and in the case of

The Advisor's Corner is a tool integrated into the Mutua's Digital Office. Can you tell us about the advantages that this tool brings to your advice?

The website is very intuitive and easy to use. During the pandemic, when carrying out the CATA procedures, for example, it was quite comfortable.o navigate and carry out the procedures.

In the Advisor's Corner we have tools to inform us about modifications and updates to agreements, the cost simulator calculator and jurisprudence and all this makes our work easier.

Finally, what would you ask the Mutual Fund so that you can improve the service you provide to your clients?

The Mutua's services, in general, are very well developed and in reality, I think there is little to improve in the service you offer.

What did you think of the content?
