IX Conference at the UAL on Law 2/2025 and gender equality in the work environment

The degree hall of the Paraninfo of the University of Almería hosted last Friday the 21st, a successful day organized in collaboration with by Gabriel Aguilera, vice-rector of Sustainability, Health and Sports of the University of Almería, Pedro Serrera, general secretary of They highlighted the importance of advancing in the improvement of occupational health and safety, as well as equality in work environments.

According to Aguilera's statements to the UAL News Portal, “in this ninth edition of the Conference, organized with our mutual insurance company, Fraternidad Muprespa, relevant topics will be discussed, such as prevention in key gender and the details of the new law 2/2025, on permanent disability”

For his part, Pedro Serrera highlighted, before the same microphone, that “at a time like this, when the effects of Law 2/2025 and the impact it will have on the reincorporation of workers with consequences to companies and the adaptation of the job, it is important to open a debate and see the advantages for the company, for the worker and also the impact it has on the economic benefit for permanent disability”

Likewise, Rafael Zafra, explained that considering gender equality in all activities “is the seventh objective of the Andalusian Workplace Safety Strategy 2024-2028.” 

The central point of the day was the intervention of the magistrate Diego Zafra, head of the Social Court number 1 of the city, to whom he presented Rosa Serrano, provincial director of the INSS. His presentation analyzed Law 2/2025 in depth, providing keys thanks to an expert legal vision. 

The day also held a round table dedicated to gender equality in the workplace, moderated by the vice-rector and in which María del Mar Pérez, Provincial Head of the Labor Inspection in Almería, participated; Rafael Delgado, consultant at QuirónPrevención.

The debate addressed strategies to integrate equality into the company's preventive culture, starting from the seeds as a metaphor for the necessary integration. Delgado highlighted some measures that companies can carry out in relation to ORP from a gender perspective, such as analyzing, disaggregated by sex, the data related to accidents, medical examinations, training, employee satisfaction or participation in issues related to equality. 

The closing was again led by the vice-rector and Matilde Góngora, Provincial Director of Fraternidad-Muprespa in Almería, who thanked the high participation and commitment shown by companies, professionals and students.
