The capital of Ecuador hosted on November 9 and 10 the World Congress of Healthy Businesses, organized by the SEK International University and the Institute of Labor Safety and Welfare, as well as the Prevent Healthy Company Awards.
The event was attended by some of the country's highest authorities, such as Vladimir Lenin Ochoa, Undersecretary of Monitoring, Control and Resources, and Public Service Services of the Presidency of the Republic,Maria Cecilia Pena, director of Safety, Health at Work and Comprehensive Risk Management in the Ministry of Labor of Ecuador, doctor Xavier Buitrón, director of Follow-up and Monitoring of the Service of the Ministry of Labor,Fabian Escalante, director of Occupational Risk Insurance, or Javier Rubio, Executive Director of the Ecuadorian Professional Training Service.
This Congress was possible thanks to the work of Raimon Salazar, Rector of the SEK Ecuador International University,Esteban Andrade, Vice-rector of the same center, master Pablo Suasnavas, dean of the Faculty of Work Sciences and Human Behavior, and Agustín Sanchez Toledo, CEO of Prevent.
Both the Congress and the awards focused on promoting and recognizing practices and policies that promote health and well-being in the work environment, bringing together business leaders, health experts and human resources professionals from all over Ecuador.
Fraternidad-Muprespa was represented by Natalia Fdez. Laviada, deputy general director of Prevention, Quality and Communication, who offered the first conference after the opening ceremony, with the title “Healthy Leadership for a sustainable future.”
Leadership, as he shared, is one of the so-called 'soft skills' that is fundamental for organizations of any size "because it plays a key role in the success and performance of the organization." “Being a responsible leader,” he explained, “is not only a skill that can be learned, but also a commitment that must be made to guide the members of the organization toward achieving common goals.”
