European Week of Safety and Health at Work
Between the days October 19 to 23 EU-OSHA celebrates the European Week for Safety and Health at Work, which is organized as a initiative annual in which hundreds of awareness-raising events are carried out in all member countries of the European Union and which are related to occupational health and safety.
The European Week for Safety and Health at Work marks the official launch of the Healthy Workplaces: Relax the Burden campaign, focusing on musculoskeletal disorders.
Among the activities carried out, we must highlight, among others, film screenings, events on social networks, conferences, exhibitions, competitions and training sessions.
For companies or organizations that have prepared an awareness-raising activity or wish to launch a longer-term project on safety and health, and believe they fit into the campaign on healthy jobs led by the European Agency, the week is the perfect opportunity to ensure that the event receives the attention it deserves due to its enormous impact in the media. communication:
Committed to safety and health
Fraternidad-Muprespa as a member of the Spanish Network for Safety and Health at Work, we are especially involved in transmitting the messages contained in all the European campaigns launched by the European Agency for Prevention (EU-OSHA), even more so this year in which the campaign focuses on overexertion and musculoskeletal disorders that are the main origin of workplace accidents. This is the third campaign that EU-OSHA has dedicated to MSDs, in 2000 (Turn Your Back on MSDs) and in 2007 (Lighten the Load, MSDs), which gives us an idea of the prevalence of the risks generated by these ailments. Since then, the measures implemented have not been able to stop them, hence the importance of proposing new strategies to treat and solve the problem. problem.
Since January 2020 we have been carrying out different actions in line with this campaign, such as:
- Content 1_FM: n___news information about the Eu-Osha campaign as the origin of the thread that we will follow the rest of the year.___HTMLTAG76_ __ ___
- Content 2_FM: n___news about What are MSDs? Forced postures. Repetitive movements.
- Content 3_FM: Dotte Method explanation for ___registration and evaluation of the TME.
- Content 4_FM:book on ergonomics in digital format.
- Content 5_FM: infographic news explaining the mapping method in TME.___
- Content 6_FM:HTMLTAG189___ infographic on TME mapping: based on the document belonging to Iuf.org* with the title: “Making women visible in occupational health and safety” whose annex describes the ins and outs of how to carry out this participatory risk assessment technique.
- Content 7_FM:___h___healthy habits to avoid MSDs, advisable good practices to reduce MSDs.
- Content 8_FM: sand includes as downloadable the campaign guide, flyer, power point and other materials that can be used in the EU-OSHA campaign.
We introduce here the Content 9_FM as a download, a summary document to propose topics that serve to initiate discussions on musculoskeletal disorders in companies. We believe that an important part of the problem, in relation to the prevalence of MSDs, is that they are not talked about enough in companies, thus they are not detected and therefore they are not stopped. We want to present here a very useful tool to carry out participatory prevention and propose new communication channels between workers and managers. It's about finding solutions together for the common problems of overexertion. This content is based on the document titled: conversation starters, of which we do not have a Spanish version.
Coming soon, throughout the month of October will take place:
- The fifth meeting #Fratertalk entitled “Ergonomics and TME let's relax the burdens” which will be attended by Mercedes Sanchis, Director of Innovation in Wellbeing and Occupational Health at the IBV (Valencia Biomechanical Institute). If you want to sign up, do click here.
- Educational Offer: 6 webinar sessions distributed nationwide of our Stop al course overexertion in the workplace with the objective of understanding overexertion as one of the main agents causing injuries in the workplace and knowing the preventive measures that will allow us to eliminate this risk. ___
At Fraternidad-Muprespa we are committed to safety and health at work to reduce the accident rate of our mutual companies, which is why we put at your disposal our "Catalog for prevention of risks laborHTMLTAG308", where you can find all the activities, projects and services that we are launching this year for our associated companies.
