Harambee! Let's celebrate Social Work Day
Like every third Tuesday of the month of March, Social Work celebrates its World Day inviting society to reflect on the role that each person plays to achieve the true common good.
This year the motto of the International Federation of Social Workers (IFSW) is“Co-building hope and harmony: a Harambee cry to unite a divided society”
Harambee is an expression in Swahili that means "all together" or "let's unite", so that everyone collaborates and helps in a certain task, it is used in Africa as a call to cooperation to overcome challenges together.
“This call to co-build hope and harmony reminds us that no challenge is too great when we move forward together”, in the words of Joachim Mumba, president of the IFSW, who has highlighted the place that social workers occupy, indicating that"They are present in every corner of society, alongside communities as they face adversity. We walk with people as they rebuild bonds, restore trust and strengthen resilience.
At Mutua we share that spirit to achieve an eco-social world through values such as customer service, employee commitment, a sense of public affairs, efficiency, quality and innovation, and ethics and corporate social responsibility.
