Fraternidad-Muprespa has paid 378 million euros to the self-employed since the declaration of the State of Alarm
Fraternidad-Muprespa, Mutual Collaborator with Social Security, has paid close to 378 million euros to its protected self-employed workers, in the last year, specifically between the first half of April 2020, when the first payment order was issued until last month of March.
This amount, specifically 377,838,070.12 euros, corresponds to what was paid as an extraordinary benefit for the Cessation of Activity of Self-Employed Workers, managed by the mutual insurance companies for just over a year.
In total, a total of 181,444 requests have been processed, of which 157,257, 86.6%, were favorably recognized.
The self-employed workers of Andalusia with 104 million euros, Community of Madrid with 56.6 million euros and Castilla-La Mancha with 34 million euros, have been the recipients of just over half of the total amount paid.
On the other hand, Aragón, Navarra and La Rioja are the territories in which the amount paid is lower (3.6 million euros, 3.8 million euros and 4.2 million euros, respectively).
The special benefit for Cessation of Activity (CATA.COVID) is aimed at self-employed workers affected by the declaration of the state of alarm decreed on March 14 due to the COVID-19 pandemic in two cases: the total cessation of their activity or the significant reduction in their income. To this initial one, more benefit modalities have subsequently been added that meet the special needs of various groups of self-employed workers, for example, those who are seasonal, those who were entitled to the cessation of activity benefit compatible with self-employment or those who were not entitled to the ordinary benefit because they did not meet the required deficiency requirements.
