Fraternidad-Muprespa obtains the “Compensation” seal
Fraternidad-Muprespa celebrates World Tree Day and continues to make progress in reducing its own CO2 emissions, for which it has obtained the 'Compensation' seal, awarded by the Ministry for the Ecological Transition and Demographic Challenge, for offsetting its carbon footprint. This seal recognizes entities that, in addition to calculating greenhouse gas emissions, reduce them and go one step further by offsetting part of their carbon footprint.
This action completes a path undertaken in 2016, the first year in which the entity's carbon footprint was verified, first obtaining the “Calculo” seal, later the “Calculo+Reduzco” seal through an emissions minimization plan, and now finally the aforementioned “Calculo+Reduzco+Compensado”.
The compensation project is carried out in collaboration with CO2 Revolution, a pioneer in reforestation through the latest advances in biotechnology combined with traditional means, and consists of the reforestation of more than 78 hectares in Borela (Cerdedo-Cotobade, Pontevedra), an area of gorse, broom and fern scrub, mainly with little regenerated tree growth and where the degraded soil will be recovered to create a biodiverse forest mass, protect the habitat, soil and landscape, to offset a total of 50 tons of CO2.
In this way the entity not only contributes to the fight against climate change, returning oxygen to the air through compensation for part of its carbon footprint, but it is contributing to social development by promoting labor equality, generating 100% local employment and focusing on generating a positive social impact and driving the development of this area rural.
This is one of the policies that Fraternidad-Muprespa develops at ESG, in particular, with the firm environmental commitment of the Mutual “I want to be green”, and it joins to the ICT sustainability policy, focused on the optimization and reduction of energy resources, responsible consumption and compliance with quality requirements environmental.
Among the implemented and planned measures, the following stand out:
- Continuation of the replacement of lighting with an LED system
- Installation of aerothermal systems
- Installation of photovoltaic solar energy production systems

These projects represent a comprehensive performance in our centers, and are a sign of the commitment to an emissions-free future, with the efficient use of energy, as well as resources in the construction and renovation of facilities. buildings. At Fraternidad-Muprespa we have incorporated into the corporate DNA that environmental sustainability is a concept intrinsic to the nature of the organization.”
