Fraternidad-Muprespa participates in the XXXIX Congress of the Spanish Society for Healthcare Quality

The Dr. Ana Periset, doctor of the Department of Health Management and Charity Amador, Director of Nursing at the Fraternidad-Muprespa Havana Hospital, have participated in the 39th edition of the SECA Congress, which brought together specialists from all sectors related to healthcare quality on October 25, 26 and 27 at the Víctor Villegas Auditorium and Congress Center in Murcia.

Caridad and Ana participated on Thursday the 26th at the table on “Benchmarking among MCSS: Improvements in Patient Safety" sharing a presentation on "Risk Analysis: Present and future”.

Patient safety encompasses the set of organized activities that allow establishing processes, value systems, procedures, behaviors, technologies and care environments with which to reduce risks in a constant and sustainable manner, prevent the appearance of avoidable harm, reduce the probability of causing it and mitigate its effects when they occur.

During their presentation they have detailed the steps to carry out a risk analysis in clinical safety, ranging from the definition of the scope and identification, evaluation and prioritization of risks, through the identification of causes and development of mitigation strategies, to end with the implementation of improvements, monitoring and continuous evaluation.

Next Caridad Amador has focused on the analysis of risks present for the patient in the hospital environment. Explaining the importance of the report in terms of safety in the prescription and administration of medication, as well as the procedure for requesting blood derivatives.

In the outpatient setting, Ana Periset has developed the topic of radiation safety in healthcare centers, especially regarding patient dosimetry.

To conclude the presentation, they highlighted the latest trends in future risk analysis through:

• Promote a safety culture and the active patient participation in their own care process.

• Compliance with clinical safety regulations and standards.

• He predictive analysis, Big Data e Artificial intelligence, which allow us to predict adverse effects and anticipate when making clinical decisions.

• The Telemedicine y digital health which presents new security challenges and new opportunities for improvement.
