Carlos Espinosa de los Monteros, president of Mutualistas, held this Thursday at the Fraternidad-Muprespa Habana Hospital (Madrid). The year has been marked by the coronavirus pandemic and its significant complications and economic repercussions.

Espinosa de los Monteros explained that the management income amounted to 1,862 million euros, of which 711 corresponded to contributions for professional contingencies, 432 to those for common contingencies, 21 million to the cessation of activity of self-employed workers and the remainder to the extraordinary income received from the General Treasury of the Social Security to face economic benefits derived from Covid-19.

Despite the health and economic crisis environment, in 2020 Fraternidad-Muprespa has experienced several relevant events; has successfully closed its III Corporate Strategic Plan 2018-2020, with 85% fulfillment of its objectives and projects, added to three important milestones: its innovative Digital Evolution Plan, the +compromiso strategic alliance and the consolidation of the Fraternidad-Muprespa Havana Hospital as a trauma reference.

For his part, Carlos Aranda highlighted the different economic benefits managed by Fraternidad-Muprespa, especially the processing in record time of requests for extraordinary benefits for those who had to close their businesses or saw their activity significantly reduced. La Mutua paid close to 309 million euros to the more than 123,000 applications received for these benefits for the self-employed. It has achieved this thanks to a workforce made up of 2,027 employees, who cover 1.4 million workers from 117,965 associated companies, with 206,130 self-employed workers, some 8,000 more than the previous year.

Likewise the entity has paid 129.5 million euros after managing 190 thousand processes for temporary disability derived from Covid-19 (27% for contagion and another 73% for isolation).

As far as workplace accidents are concerned, work accidents with sick leave reached the figure of 35,614 processes, 27.6% less than in 2019, which places the incidence in the portfolio at 24,39.

Mutua's health professionals have carried out more than 1 million of health care and actions. In such a complex context due to the pandemic, they have continued to be close to patients and also care for Covid-19 patients who received assistance in our Hospital Fraternidad-Muprespa Habana.

Fraternidad-Muprespa thanks all the associated companies, the protected and adhered workers, the consultancies and the Administration for the trust placed in the Mutual Fund and its workers. Our commitment to them is to live up to their expectations, which is why we are satisfied that the rating of the service received in 2020 is close to outstanding, an 8.84.In this way, the Mutual Fund's values of attention, closeness and care for the patient and the mutual member are consolidated.
