“I+P Innovating in Prevention” reviews some of the technical advances that have saved the most lives
Until April 30, 2024, the Science Park hosts I+P Innovating in Prevention, an exhibition promoted by the AXA Foundation,
The exhibition is a tour of 17 modules that range from simple mechanics to complex innovations based on the Internet of Things (IoT) to satellite and space intervention, ergonomics, agriculture or care tasks.
The presentation ceremony of the exhibition, installed in the Culture of Prevention Pavilion, began with a few words of Luis Alcala, director of the Andalusia-Granada Science Park, who highlighted the importance of being the only museum that has a Prevention Culture Pavilion, an interactive and educational space to understand the diversity of risks to which we are exposed, in which those solutions that we have been incorporating naturally into our lives are made known, that have made our daily tasks easier and that have protected us or have contributed to reducing the risk of accidents. “It is necessary for people to know the risks and be aware that prevention saves lives and that innovation is an ally of safety in all areas of people's activities,” said Alcalá, who also thanked all those who have made the exhibition possible for their work.
For its part,Natalia Fernández Laviada, deputy general director of Prevention, Quality and Communication at He also stressed that public-private collaboration is key to strengthening ties and addressing global challenges: "Innovation, new technologies and technical advances have two sides. Let's stay with the positive that I+P Innovating in Prevention represents, which will help reduce workplace accidents and the scourge that work absenteeism means for sustainability."
"Having a culture of prevention is not living in fear of a misfortune affecting us. Having a culture of prevention is knowing that small daily gestures, such as incorporating certain simple routines into our daily lives, can prevent an injury, an illness or even death. And that is what this exhibition shows," he expressed.Josep Alfonso, general director of the AXA Foundation.
It also had the intervention of Luis Roda, general director of Labor, Safety and Occupational Health of the Junta de Andalucía, who highlighted the need to act against these risks, which we must direct towards both human and technical factors. "This is the meaning of this temporary exhibition that we are presenting, in which we are shown in a transversal way the significant technical advances in relation to a series of risks, both individual and collective, and that will allow the visitor to learn about the preventive measures to face them. An exhibition that has been possible due to the close collaboration between public institutions and private entities," he noted.
At the opening ceremony, the Science Park wanted to recognize the work carried out, in terms of prevention, by the Ponle Freno Awards, the largest social platform for Road Safety promoted by Compromiso Atresmedia together with the AXA Foundation. Each year these awards, among other categories, reward the most outstanding advances in innovation and development in road safety.
Jaime Diez Nogueira, Corporate Marketing Manager at Atresmedia and coordinator of the Ponle Freno campaign, collected the badge that recognizes his informative commitment to innovation in road safety during these 15 years.
Next, all attendees were able to enjoy a guided tour of Antonio José Millán, coordinator of the exhibition and director of the AXA Prevention Classroom.
