Fraternidad-Muprespa and CAEB Ibiza help prevent the damage of noise in the work environment

Fraternidad-Muprespa held a conference organized by the Confederation of Balearic Business Associations (CAEB) in Ibiza on March 31, with the title: Noise in the work environment: Comprehensive approach”.

The presentation of the day was made by Joan Bufi, vice president for Ibiza and Formentera of (CAEB), who thanked the collaboration of the participating entities as well as the assistance of those present.

It has been inaugurated by Monica Castillo, prevention technician of the General Directorate of Labour, Social Economy and Occupational Health of the Government of the Balearic Islands, who highlighted the scope generated by the problem of noise in the workplace.

The doctor Eugenio Díaz Expósito, deputy territorial assistance coordinator of the Northeast DT of Fraternidad-Muprespa, who began the first block of the day with the presentation Health management of occupational disease in Fraternidad-Muprespa”. It described the effects of noise on workers, the associated occupational diseases and the actions of the Mutual Fund once suspicion of an occupational disease begins.

He then intervened Rafael Reyes Moreno, prevention technician at Fraternidad-Muprespa, who has focused his intervention on "Risk assessment and prevention and protection measures. Practical cases: Hospitality, leisure and music sector, workshops and industry, call centers and other activities" which has broken down the evaluation of noise from the ergonomic and hygienic points of view (detailing the different methods of noise measurement), has highlighted the importance of planning preventive measures in relation to this physical agent, to end by exposing these preventive measures depending on whether the action is carried out on the source of the noise, the means of propagation or on the exposed worker. He has also mentioned the additive effect of ototoxic compounds and the current lack of knowledge about it.

To end the day, a session of questions and answers was opened, which made it possible to clarify some doubts that arose during the presentations.
