Fraternidad-Muprespa for accessibility with ASPAYM

Last Tuesday, December 12, the 9th edition of the ASPAYM Accessibility awards ceremony was held in Avilés.

 

Fraternidad-Muprespa has participated in the event with the presence of Pedro Serrera, deputy director general of Systems and Services, who gave the presentation “The big mistake of BILL GATES: CTRL + ALT + DEL”, in which he analyzed the accessibility of new technologies and showed how artificial intelligence and robotics will be able to help people who suffer from some type of disability in the future.

 

The event was attended by Pilar Varela, Minister of Services and Social Rights of the Principality of Asturias,Mariví Monteserín, mayor of the city of Avilés,Santiago Garcia, rector of the University of Oviedo, and Eduardo Llano, president of the Association of People with Spinal Injury and Other Physical Disabilities.On behalf of Fraternidad-Muprespa, the provincial director of Asturias attended,Pedro Fernandez, the delegate of Gijón,Ana Fernandez and the delegate of Avilés,Mayte Belver.

 

The awards ceremony took place at the Higher School of Art of the Principality of Asturias, specifically at its headquarters in the Camposagrado Palace, a baroque building from the 17th century, but equipped with accessibility services.

 

The ninth edition of the accessibility awards demonstrates the perseverance and determination of ASPAYM to maintain its fight for people with special needs. The President of the Association, in his speech, claimed the importance of the involvement of Public Administrations and the evolution in compliance with the General Law on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and their Social Inclusion, whose mandate to adapt public and private spaces to the criteria of universal accessibility has already been mandatory since last December 4.
