The Mutua in Palma de Mallorca addresses road safety with virtual reality
On February 14, an information meeting was held at Fraternidad-Muprespa in Palma de Mallorca under the title: “Road safety workshop with immersive virtual reality.”
Marian Sbert, provincial director of Fraternidad-Muprespa of the Balearic Islands, introduced the attendees, but not before welcoming them, to Francisca Ramis, provincial head of Traffic in the Balearic Islands, who has exposed the main causes of traffic accidents in the workplace and has focused on the points at which companies must take measures to try to reduce said accidents. He has also commented on the different programs carried out by the General Directorate of Traffic, all of which has been documented with some videos, which have been very useful in raising awareness of some dangerous behaviors that occur while driving.
After this interesting introduction Rafael Reyes, technician in Occupational Risk Prevention at Fraternidad-Muprespa, has developed the central presentation of the day. It has made evident the importance of the human factor (the driver) in avoiding traffic accidents and has shown examples of different campaigns undertaken by some companies.
After the theoretical part of the workshop, it is time to carry out the practical part. All attendees have been able to use the simulator to live the experience of driving under different situations and the consequences that distractions behind the wheel, adverse weather conditions, alcohol consumption, etc. can have.
The day ended with a very positive evaluation from those attending.
