Fraternidad-Muprespa offers a virtual safe driving experience at the ORP Congress
Fraternidad-Muprespa is present at the ORP International Congress, which is held between June 5 and 7 in Madrid under the title “Healthy Companies: the value of people in the digital age”. The Mutual Collaborator with Social Security is making visitors and participants in Congress aware of some of the tools it has to fight against workplace accidents, specifically against road work accidents.
To do this, it has moved its immersive virtual reality equipment to the Duques de Pastrana Complex, where the ORP Congress is held, which, in a practical, enjoyable and safe way, simulates driving in adverse conditions, for example, driving at night, with glare or in the presence of fog or snow. The workshop seeks to make participants aware of the risks and responsibility that must be assumed when carrying out such an everyday act as driving.
Those in charge of giving the workshops are the Senior Occupational Risk Prevention technicians of Fraternidad-Muprespa,David Revillo y Carlos Maya, next to María José Torijano, from the Department of Prevention and Development of Health Culture of the Mutua.
The participants valued this virtual experience very positively, which they described as very useful to incorporate into their routines, both during the work day and their daily lives.
According to the latest data published by the Ministry of Labor, Migration and Social Security (February 2019), the number of commuting accidents that caused sick leave during 2018 was 82,279 cases, 3.3% more than the previous year. Of these, 146 accidents were fatal, 9% more than the previous year.
