During the second half of September, five road safety workshops with immersive virtual reality equipment were held at the Fraternidad-Muprespa facilities in Zaragoza and Huesca, in which workers from different mutual companies participated. The purpose of the workshop is to raise awareness among attendees to adopt good habits in road safety at work.

In the first part of the day, accident data and their causes are analyzed. In 2018, there were a total of 52,662 work-related traffic accidents resulting in sick leave, of which 260 were fatal. Sequences are also displayed that aim to raise awareness about the subsequent suffering of all those involved in the accidents.

In the “immersive” part of the workshops, with virtual reality equipment, participants simulate driving a vehicle in different conditions and also, using 3D videos, are placed in different accident scenarios.

Additionally, they can experiment with blurry vision glasses, which simulate driving under the influence of alcohol. With a computer application they can calculate the theoretical evolution of their blood alcohol level based on their physical characteristics and the intake of alcohol and food made in a certain period of time.

The participating companies were, in Zaragoza,Telefónica De España, S.A. Unipersonal Company and Spanish Red Cross. In Monzón, Huesca, workers from companies attended Alvipre Factory, Industrialized Structures and Intramesa MZ
