Fraternidad-Muprespa carries out three Occupational Road Safety workshops in Cádiz with virtual reality equipment
On October 29 and 30, Fraternidad-Muprespa Cádiz carried out three Road Safety workshops with Immersive Virtual Reality equipment, an activity that aims to raise awareness among attendees so that they adopt good habits in workplace road safety.
On Tuesday the 29th, the Cadiz company Distributions Tarifa 2008 S.L. hosted this workshop while on October 30 the same activity took place in Cádiz, with workers from Spanish Red Cross, and in Chiclana de la Frontera, with participants from the company Moneleg S.A.
The Occupational Risk Prevention Technician Luis Angel Merlo He was in charge of giving the initial talk, in which he presented the accident data and its causes. In 2018 there were a total of 52,662 work-related traffic accidents resulting in sick leave, of which 260 were fatal. Also during this introduction, sequences are displayed that aim to raise awareness about the subsequent suffering of all those involved in the accidents.
Subsequently, with virtual reality equipment, workers simulate driving a vehicle in different conditions, usually adverse due to weather, glare or the introduction of an insect into the vehicle's interior. Using 3D videos, participants are virtually placed in different accident scenarios.
You can also experience blurred vision with special glasses, thus simulating the effects of alcohol. With a computer application they can calculate the theoretical evolution of their blood alcohol level based on their physical characteristics and the intake made in a certain period of time.
