AENOR certifies the Carbon Footprint of Fraternidad-Muprespa
Fraternidad-Muprespa, Mutual Collaborator with Social Security, has verified its carbon footprint in accordance with the UNE-EN ISO 14064 standard. The carbon footprint is the amount of total greenhouse gas emissions released into the atmosphere. This standard allows us to know and control the emissions of organizations and their products, improve their competitiveness, as well as increase transparency before third parties.
Manuel Romero, Director of Intelligence and Market Surveillance at AENOR, presented the certificate to Carlos Aranda, Managing Director of Fraternidad-Muprespa, at the Mutua's headquarters in Madrid. Also present, on behalf of Fraternidad-Muprespa,Natalia Fdez. Laviada, Deputy Director General of Prevention, Quality and Communication, and Elena Iglesias, director of the Department of Quality and Environment.
For Carlos Aranda "this certificate is special for the Mutua because it implies a differentiating element with which we contribute our part to increasing environmental awareness and the fight against climate change, as well as against the emissions that cause it. It is an issue that is at the center of the international agenda and at the Mutua we seek to contribute to a more sustainable planet."
For his part, Romero congratulated the Mutua for the “internal work carried out to achieve this certification”, insisting on the motivating nature it provides, as it opens the doors to true environmental development through a differentiating certificate.
Verification encompasses both emissions coming from the organization itself and those over which it has influence. Thus, for example, emissions associated with boilers have been considered, but also others such as electricity consumption, employee travel or paper consumption.
With this certification granted by AENOR, Fraternidad-Muprespa adds its fourth certification. The previous ones are those of Quality Management Systems based on the UNE-EN ISO 9001:2015 standard; ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management System; and the Information Security Management System (ISMS) in accordance with the UNE-ISO/IEC 27001:2014 standard.
