Jose Luis Agudo, Provincial Director of Fraternidad-Muprespa in Ciudad Real, attended the meeting of the Ciudad Real Road Safety Subcommittee on February 27, of which he is a member. The event was chaired by the Government Subdelegate in the province, María Ángeles Herreros. Raquel García, Provincial Head of Traffic, offered the accident data on the province's roads, corresponding to last year.

In 2019 there were 461 accidents in which 19 people died and 37 were hospitalized. It is on conventional roads where the highest number of accidents were recorded, 195, and also where the highest number of deaths occur. On urban roads, due to a lateral or frontal-lateral collision, two people lost their lives. By sex, men are mostly the victims of accidents on interurban roads. On urban roads the number of accidents is more balanced.

Accidents occur mainly due to leaving the road due to distractions, fatigue and excess speed. If we analyze the previous parameter in relation to the age of the victims, it is observed that on interurban roads more accidents occur in the 25 to 35 age group, while on urban roads the age group between 35 and 44 years prevails. From this it is deduced that the pattern of road accidents in Ciudad Real is that of a man, driver, of a passenger vehicle, on a conventional highway interurban road and due to an exit from the road due to distractions or inappropriate speed.

The subcommittee also reviewed the activities carried out during the past year and the proposals for this year.
