Adjustment of self-filtering masks in healthcare personnel

Within the framework of the General Plan for Preventive Activities, in the +compromiso agreement formed by Asepeyo, MC Mutual and Catalonia in the second quarter of 2020. It has been detected that a significant number of masks that were tested in this study had notable deficiencies in terms of their fit.

It is important that in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic, health professionals who care for patients suspected or confirmed of the virus must be well protected. One of the essential protection elements is respiratory protection, considering that the contact of the virus by air is very extensive. Therefore, the protection offered by FFP2 or FFP3 type self-filtering masks not only depends on their particle filtration capacity but also on their fit to the wearer's face.
