Fraternidad-Muprespa supports the “X solidarity” campaign for another year, the initiative that encourages taxpayers to mark box 106 in their income tax return, the one corresponding to “Activities of Social Interest”.

The Mutual Collaborator with Social Security annually gives voice to this campaign, by virtue of the collaboration agreement it signed in 2019 with the Social Action NGO Platform, which promotes this initiative.

“Sign for the biggest team in Spain. The team where everyone scores” is this year's motto, clearly inspired by sports, as are the campaign videos, which have an aesthetic similar to that of football and whose voice-over is reminiscent of the narration of a match.

According to data from the Platform, offered at the press conference to present the campaign on April 3, 53% of those who made the declaration last year checked the box for social purposes, box 106, a figure that is equivalent to 22.8 million filers. In addition, the Platform has also collected data on the increase in the last ten years of people who check this box, two million, as well as the amount collected: between 2013 and 2023, more than 197 million euros.

Checking this box “does not mean paying more or getting less back” according to Yolanda Besteiro, president of the Social Action NGO Platform, who recalled that doing so allows 0.7% of taxes to be allocated to programs carried out by NGOs, benefits people in vulnerable situations and turns the taxpayer into an important asset of social solidarity.

In 2023, the more than 425 million euros allocated to “activities of social interest” were distributed through Social Action NGOs (77.72% of the collected), development cooperation NGOs (19.43% of the collected) and Environment (2.85% of the collected)

Some of the projects developed within this framework are dedicated to the protection of children and adolescents, care for people with disabilities and their families, support for older people in residences and day centers, social emergency programs for families, comprehensive care centers for women with breast cancer or the fight against rural depopulation, among many other initiatives.
