The facilities of the Valencian Institute of Safety and Health at Work (INVASSAT) hosted the technical day last Tuesday "Occupational Disease. That great unknown", organized by the Institute in collaboration with Fraternidad-Muprespa, Mutual Collaborator with Social Security.

The conference served as a space for reflection and learning for professionals in the health and business fields, highlighting the relevance of continuing to deepen the knowledge and management of occupational diseases, often invisible but with a high impact on health and work productivity.

The session was opened by Andrés Lluch, General Director of Labor, Cooperatives and Labor Security, who also serves as director of INVASSAT. Lluch welcomed the attendees and highlighted the importance of making visible and adequately managing occupational diseases in the work environment, as well as collaboration between mutual insurance companies.

The program was structured into several technical presentations. First of all, Isabel Gonzalez, occupational doctor of the Occupational Risk Prevention Service of the Generalitat Valenciana, explained the management of occupational diseases in key sectors such as Education, Justice and Public Service.

Subsequently, Jordi de Vicente, provincial director of Fraternidad-Muprespa in Valencia, conveyed the vision of the Mutua in this regard and presented Jesus Manuel Lopez, prevention consultant in Murcia, who carried out an in-depth analysis of the active role of the entity in the identification and treatment of these diseases. He also explained the different action procedures, highlighting his commitment to prevention and occupational health. Subsequently, Vicente presented his presentation, analyzing the incidence of occupational diseases in Spain, going into more detail in relation to those of the Valencian Community.

The business vision was represented by Francisco Tirado, senior advisor of the Boluda Group, who shared his experience on how occupational diseases affect the business environment and its organization.  He gave it an eminently practical approach, explaining how this challenge is faced, even at an international level.

The day closed Esteban Santamaría, Territorial Director of INVASSAT in Valencia, who thanked the public for their participation and attendance and stressed the need to continue promoting training sessions that contribute to improving preventive culture.
