Fraternidad MUPRESPA COLLABORATES IN THE CREIF PROJECT FOR THE SAFETY OF FOREST FIRE FIGHTING PERSONNEL
The research project C.R.E.I.F. born from the interest of the Agrarian Transformation company (T.R.A.G.S.A.) and the Mutual Fraternidad-Muprespa in promote research into the risks and conditioning factors of the forms of work that may affect the health of Forest Fire Fighting Specialist Personnel (P.E.E.I.F.), with the aim of improving their working conditions, guaranteeing their safety and resulting in their work well-being, through the study and quantification of the aspects that may impact them.
For the development of the project, as a fundamental part of the study, physical training, cardiac monitoring and energy expenditure during extinguishing tasks, the recording of environmental parameters generated during the fire (temperature supported, heat received, smoke inhaled,...), the dehydration achieved and the ergonomic study of the equipment and tools used have been analyzed.
This study has given rise to several scientific works and publications, among which the following stand out:

Just as it has been the basis for the doctoral thesis “Influence of physical condition in relation to the health and performance of personnel specializing in forest fire extinguishing” by Mr. Jorge Lopez Satué of the Faculty of Physical Activity and Sports Sciences of the University of León.
This project signed and launched by the Agrarian Transformation Company, S.A. (T.R.A.G.S.A.) and the mutual insurance company for work accidents and occupational diseases (Assessment of physical condition in relation to health, training and sports performance) of the Department of Physical and Sports Education and the Institute of Biomedicine of the University of León.
