NOVEMBER 6, ENTRY INTO FORCE OF LAW 32/2100 THAT REGULATES THE BENEFIT FOR CESSATION OF ACTIVITY OF THE SELF-EMPLOYED

Last Saturday, November 6, Law 32/2010 came into force, establishing a specific system of protection for self-employed workers due to cessation of activity.

As we already announced in the month of August, "the coverage of the new protection,It is mandatory for all self-employed workers who have protection for professional contingencies covered. on the date of entry into force of the Law".

In relation to the self-employed of the Special System for Agricultural Self-Employed Workers, in accordance with the provisions of the eighth additional provision of the Law, the determination of the legal regime of protection is deferred to future regulatory development.

For self-employed workers who do not have professional contingencies covered, for the purposes of the benefit for cessation of activity, a special period of three months is enabled (11/7/2010 to 2/6/2011) so that they can opt for this coverage, with effect from the first day of the month following the one in which said option is made.
