Presentation of the VIII Zaldívar 2804 Scholastic Awards
Fraternidad-Muprespa, Mutual Collaborator with Social Security, has delivered the VIII Escolático Zaldívar 2804 Awards for Safety and Health, via steaming, coinciding with the VI Prevention Week of the Entity.
The winners of this edition have been:
Cemex Spain Operations, manufacturer of materials for the construction industry, in the category Talking about Prevention, which distinguishes good practices in communication, dissemination, awareness and promotion of prevention. Rafic El Khury, Health and Safety Director participated in the event and assured that “if all the awards in the field of health and safety are very appreciated, we must grant the Escolático Zaldívar awards an extra bit of gratitude as they are awarded by experts who know from within us work”.
Ashland Specialties Hispania, company of chemical products, in the category Plus Prevention, which recognizes preventive improvement actions aimed at reducing workplace accidents. Carolina Pérez, Office Manager of the company, thanked this award which reflects that "at Ashland we care a lot about safety. In fact, our motto is that safety comes first and comes before the business because if we are not well, the business does not move forward." He also stated that every year we innovate in security and this year we collect an award for this effort.”
Pañalón S.A., vehicle transport and logistics company, in the category Safe Mobility, which rewards actions and good practices in road safety aimed at reducing occupational traffic accidents. Ignacio Arnau, Safety, Health, Environment and Quality Manager of the company was in charge of collecting the award and began his speech by thanking regulations”.
Sanofi-Aventis, Spanish subsidiary of the biopharmaceutical laboratory, in the category Walking towards Wellbeing, which recognizes the best projects to promote healthy habits among workers, María José Martínez, Health, Safety and Environment Lead of the company, was in charge of collecting the award and thanked the recognition for “Sanofi's work and commitment to taking care of the health of its employees.” “In 2017 we set ourselves the challenge of creating a healthy company culture. The first step was certification as a Healthy Company and since then we have continued to move in the same direction. Our purpose is to promote healthy habits among our employees, reduce absenteeism and improve health,” he added.
Ence Energía y Celulosa, eucalyptus pulp production company, in the category We are sorry for Prevention, which rewards inclusive projects and actions. Roberto Manteiga, Forest Health and Safety Manager of the company, collected the award and initially highlighted his gratitude to
Fraternidad-Muprespa has also recognized the work of Antonio José Millán Villanueva, professor of Labor and Social Security Law at the University of Granada, with the Extraordinary Award for Professional Career.After collecting the award, Millán highlighted that "fortunately today the prevention of occupational risks is already on the agenda of companies but it needs to be, in general, in all social areas, generating a preventive culture. Covid-19 has come to confirm that prevention is not something for a few."
In addition, the Mutua has awarded the Extraordinary Award to the entity or body committed to the prevention of occupational risks to the Spanish Association of Occupational Prevention Services (AESPLA). The award was collected by its president, Conchita Martínez de Bustamante, who highlighted that Aespla “protects almost half a million workers in 41 companies, who thank Fraternidad-Muprespa, the jury and its senior management for this distinction.”
