Last June 5 we celebrated World Environment Day, on the occasion of this day we made available to our interest groups a survey with simple questions, which has been available until June 26.

With the situation we are experiencing, the consumption of masks and gloves has increased exponentially, which threatens to become a new problem for the environment, so it is essential to carry out good management, which is why we were plagued by doubts as to whether people really knew where to dispose of this waste.

82% of respondents affirm that “Both masks and gloves should be disposed of properly, that is, in the waste container.” 13% say the place of deposit is “In the plastic container”, while 9% affirm “They can be thrown in both containers.”

In view of the results, we are pleased to see how most of the respondents are clear about where to dispose of these products (remains container), although we have much room for improvement given that 30% of those surveyed are unaware that single-use masks and gloves should be placed in the remains container.

Continuing with this dynamic of waste segregation, we ask: Do you know the information that your city council provides on waste collection: clean points, collection of bulky material? As well as resolution of doubts?

63% of those surveyed say "Yes, I am informed. I know the schedules and the waste that I have to take to the clean point provided by my city. 31% respond "Something, but I would like to have more information about it", while 6% openly state that they do not carry out any type of recycling.

At Fraternidad-Muprespa we are committed to the environment, and recycling is one of the pillars of our daily life. All Mutua centers have different bins to be able to carry out correct segregation, which makes recycling possible. Furthermore, together with an environmental awareness policy that has allowed us to reduce non-hazardous waste by 5 tons in the last year (*).
