The directive highlighted the importance of article 2.3 of Royal Decree 860/2018, which includes the obligation for all Mutual Funds Collaborating with Social Security to plan, develop and execute their preventive actions taking into account the gender perspective.

In relation to why it is necessary to apply the gender perspective to occupational health, he based his answer on three compelling reasons: because it is fair and a social priority, because this is what current regulations state and thirdly, because differences really exist, both biological (genetic, anthropometric, physiological) and neurological and sensory.

Next, he shared some questions that must be answered within organizations, not only to make visible the importance of preventing occupational risks in terms of gender, but directly, to solve problems. For example, are jobs, equipment, vehicles or tools designed with a standardized and predominantly masculine technical design? Are these goods more expensive because their manufacturing is less in demand? Because companies do not require the requirement of customization or gender adaptation in their purchasing centers? That is, what is the point of a generic risk assessment that does not take into account the gender or sexual characteristics of the person?
