Fraternidad-Muprespa analyzes in Gijón the impact of technology on occupational health
Fraternidad-Muprespa participated last week in the XV International and XIX National Congress of Ergonomics and Psychosociology, held in Gijón and organized by the Asturian Ergonomics Association PREVERAS.
The Occupational Risk Prevention consultant of the Mutua, Ivan Fernandez, was part of the round table “Technology at the service of humans or humans at the service of technology?”.
During his speech, Fernández reflected on the effects of digitalization on occupational health, highlighting how the intensive use of devices and hyperconnectivity are generating new psychosocial risks such as 'technoanxiety', 'nomophobia' or 'vamping'.
In a single generation we have gone from looking at a screen a couple of hours a day to practically living inside them", he stated. "The challenge is not to eliminate technology, but to learn to live with it without affecting our well-being.
The consultant stressed the importance of incorporating digital health into the preventive strategies of organizations, recalling that current work environments require cognitive and emotional ergonomics that help maintain the balance between performance and health.
Fernández concluded that raising awareness about the risks derived from technological overexposure is key to moving towards prevention adapted to the 21st century.
