In online format and organized by the Confederation of Entrepreneurs of Cádiz, the day also included the participation of Aesleme, the Association for the Study of Spinal Cord Injury. Within the framework of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), this day highlighted the need to integrate road prevention in companies to build safer and more sustainable environments.

12% of workplace accidents are traffic-related and 30% of workplace deaths occur on the road. Data as compelling as these have been the focus of this meeting, in which the risk involved in getting behind the wheel was explained, especially in the workplace. Hence the importance of trying to raise awareness among employers about the benefits of occupational road safety.

David Revillo, Prevention consultant at people.

For her part Mar Cogollos, director of AESLEME, in her presentation "Educating to save lives: the role of the company in road safety", made a clear call: "traffic accidents can happen to anyone." He highlighted that accidents are a preventable pandemic and addressed critical factors such as distractions, alcohol, drugs, fatigue and speed. He also highlighted the need to work on mental health in the workplace and to assess injured people as victims of a road accident.

The day also included a technical perspective on how companies can address road safety with real examples and practical tools. Specifically, the concept of traffic accident and its application in the work environment was analyzed, the importance of evaluating road risks and designing safe and sustainable mobility plans with the commitment of management and cases of good organizational practices to minimize risks in sectors such as transportation, commuting and road work.

The event made it clear that workplace road safety is a shared responsibility between employers and workers. With a focus on protecting lives, it was highlighted that preventing accidents is not only a legal duty, but an ethical and human commitment since the life and health of people must always be the most important thing.
