Human factor in OSH, the focus of a conference in Seville with a speaker from Fraternidad-Muprespa
The Seville Occupational Risk Prevention Center organized this conference aimed at addressing emerging risks associated with the use of communication technologies and their impact on occupational health and safety.

During the intervention Fernández delved into current phenomena such as vamping (resorting to electronic devices just before going to sleep), phubbing ( ignoring those around you to pay more attention to the electronic device ), nomophobia (anxiety or irritation due to not having a mobile phone or not being able to use it) or FOMO/JOMO (anxiety about not being able to stay connected or having the feeling of missing things) as well as in compensatory behaviors linked to excessive use of screens: anxiety eating, impulsive purchases or “infinite scroll ”. He also highlighted the relationship of these habits with mental health, hidden absenteeism, addictions and work accidents.
The speaker raised the emerging challenges for safety and health at work , underlining the importance of putting the focus on people and linked his contributions to new lines of research on psychosocial risks, including the study of “T echnostress in occupational risk prevention technicians”.
The conference highlighted the need for a comprehensive look at prevention, which considers both traditional risks and those derived from digitalization and the management of mental health in the workplace.
