Fraternidad-Muprespa participates in the X Forum “You previenes” held in Gijón
Fraternidad-Muprespa participated this Monday, March 11, in the The Congress focused on the analysis of the situation regarding Safety and Health at Work.
José Beltrán García, Occupational Risk Prevention technician from Fraternidad-Muprespa in Asturias spoke with the presentation “Emotional Intelligence, New Tool in Occupational Risk Prevention?” Beltrán highlighted the need to train in values such as empathy and emotional intelligence, especially for managers and middle managers responsible for processes and people. We must also focus on communicative and participatory environments and promote a real preventive culture.
His intervention also focused on the characteristics of the true healthy company, in which participatory channels are created where productivity is related to the physical and psychological health of workers, with the well-being of the organization and with a management system that is respectful and attentive to forms, greater adaptation to work demands, a functional and flexible communication system, more effective management in the organization, and an acceptance of the expression of negative emotions. Likewise, when designing jobs, it is important to respect equal opportunities and the development of work-family balance policies.
Currently the main challenge facing business organizations is to permanently work to integrate individual health and well-being objectives and organizational productivity and competitiveness objectives. Therefore, the objective should be to achieve responsible and healthy organizations.
The congress was attended by representatives of Occupational Risk Prevention such as Javier Llaneza (president of the Spanish Ergonomics Association), Sara García De las Heras (Confederal Secretary of Trade Union Action and Occupational Health of USO) or Humberto Saez (IAPRL Training Manager).
The day was very well attended and had more than one hundred attendees. At the end, a question-and-answer session was opened where all the aspects raised were clarified, in a very participatory debate.
