Fraternidad-Muprespa holds a conference on safety and human factor in Seville
Fraternidad-Muprespa, Mutual Collaborator with Social Security, in collaboration with the Official College of Psychology of Western Andalusia, held last Wednesday the conference entitled "Human Factor: where are we?", given by Manuel Lucas Sebastián, who presented his books "Si Fallor, Sum. Human error and accidents: Analysis of Human and Organizational Factors" and "Errors, mistakes and other complications. Human factor and security".
The presentation of the event was given by Sonia Medrano, Southern Territorial Director of (FUNCOP).
To understand human error and accidents, Sebastián analyzes in depth the so-called human and organizational factors in his work, that is, the issues that concern people and the way in which they are organized, which are behind the generation of accidents. What the reader will find below is a story about how the theories and models regarding these issues have evolved, how they have incorporated new variables, how they have refined their analysis methodology and how they have visualized the interaction of the different components with each other. At the same time, for each way of analyzing the error, a way of preventing it has emerged, so we can imagine this story as an endless spiral that tries to provide solutions, always partial, to each new problem that arises or to each new accident for which the existing preventive approaches have not been useful.
After the author's conference, which aroused great interest among the more than fifty attendees at the event, a lively discussion took place.
