On January 18, the Ministry of Inclusion, Social Security and Migration and the main self-employed associations represented by ATA, UPTA and Uatae, have agreed to an extension of the period of access to benefits for cessation of activity that ended on January 31.

This aid will remain in force until May 31, 2021 in order to continue supporting the more than three million self-employed workers, who have to face the economic consequences derived from the crisis caused by the coronavirus.

According to data provided by the main self-employed associations, they have lost 65,000 million euros.

Since the state of alarm was decreed, benefits have been granted at a cost of almost €5,000 million, which have been managed and paid by the Social Security Collaborating Mutual Funds.

Likewise, the extension of the ERTE has also been extended until May 31.
