On Sunday, November 16 the World Day of Remembrance for Road Accident Victims is celebrated, as is every third Sunday of November, ins established by the UN in 2005 to pay tribute to those who have lost their lives or have been seriously injured in road accidents, as well as to recognize the suffering of their families and the work of the emergency services.

In Spain, traffic accidents continue to be one of the main causes of mortality, with 1,154 deaths in 2024, according to data from the General Directorate of Traffic. This impact not only affects society in general, but also the workplace, since traffic accidents represent 11.7% of work accidents with sick leave, according to data from the National Institute of Safety and Health at Work.

Aware of this reality, Fraternidad-Muprespa annually celebrates its Workplace Road Safety Week. This year's motto, in its eighth edition, is “Safe driving, sustainable mobility” and b seeks to promote responsible habits between mutual companies and workers, promoting the prevention of risks in work trips and the reduction of accidents.

A week that historically combines training actions, awareness campaigns and immersive experiences with virtual reality, through which Fraternidad-Muprespa emphasizes that road safety is a shared responsibility, and that there are decisions that can save lives.
