As social beings that we are, in our nature is the need to relate, both on a personal level and on a collective level. Companies, organizations, associations, institutions... any group establishes relationships with which it defends its interests, establishes its needs and defines its strategies. "The importance of IR lies in the fact that they are relationships that transcend us as individuals, because they exist independently of specific people and because they affect the essence of entities. People relate by communicating, that is why the area is integrated into the Communication department, which in Fraternidad-Muprespa is called precisely that, Communication and IR", explains José Ramón Blázquez.

The work of this department is carried out in compliance with the standards of the IR Master Plan approved by the Steering Committee, to set the guidelines to be applied in institutional actions throughout the organization. And it does so on the basis of three basic premises: strict compliance with the instructions of the General Directorate of Social Security Planning, the involvement of all units of the mutual insurance company, especially the territorial network, and versatility, essential in current times, in which it is necessary to resort to virtual communication tools.

The materialization of this work is the collaboration agreements signed to promote said institutional activity. Currently, Fraternidad-Muprespa maintains more than 40 active organizations with institutions of diverse nature, always with the common objective of helping to disseminate the role of Mutual Collaborators with Social Security. In addition, they are also responsible for carrying out corporate activities and events, such as center inaugurations, BONUS recognition events... although the three most important are the General Meeting, the Annual Meeting and the Escolático Zaldívar awards ceremony.

“In all of them, the team's dedication is maximum,” explains Blázquez, who adds that other units also participate, such as the Legal Services and Advisory Center or the Systems Department. José Ramón Blázquez has also summarized how COVID-19 has affected Institutional Relations. "There is no doubt that it is producing effects in all sectors and modifying our way of working and relating. In the field of events the impact has been brutal but technology and the process of evolution and digital transformation in which the Mutua is immersed has allowed us to find alternative technological formulas to meet our needs. The use of the Internet and social networks has also allowed us to overcome communication barriers."
