Fraternidad-Muprespa, present at a CEOE-Cepyme Cantabria conference on ORP leadership
CEOE-CEPYME Cantabria held this Monday the conference "Motivation, leadership and communication. Key competencies to influence Occupational Health and Safety", which revolved around the 25 years of the Occupational Risk Prevention Law and, in light of the current situation, the need for a change in strategy by prevention professionals. The event, held in front of more than fifty people, had the collaboration of the Government of Cantabria, Fraternidad-Muprespa and the Cantabrian Institute of Safety and Health at Work.
During its course, the competencies and skills to improve the preventive approach were also discussed, beyond the technical and legal, specifically, through motivation, leadership, impact and influence.
This is precisely what the presentation by Natalia Fdez.
“The ability that some people have to influence the behavior of others towards a common goal” is the definition that Fdez.
I continue to ensure that prevention and health specialists “must apply methods of observation, evaluation, planning and monitoring to avoid psychosocial risks, including those derived from leadership, with or without position, inappropriate, because they are not healthy.” The key to this is “working with intangible elements as important as exemplarity, authenticity, ethics and honesty in companies,” he stressed.
Later gave way to a description of what weaknesses or 'kryptonites' are the most frequent in leaders or middle managers, as well as the antidotes to counteract their deficiencies.
Among them he named narcissistic leaders, who lack empathy, stressed leaders, sad ones, liars or lonely ones. To reverse these negative trends in the exercise of leadership, the antidotes are generosity, happiness understood as balance, the ability to adapt and anticipate, coherence and sincerity, and finally, teamwork, which allows group leadership to be exercised through socialization.
Fdez. We are what we communicate.” Both Pirla and Rico were protagonists speaking about their respective specialties in Fratertalks, the virtual space offered monthly by Fraternidad-Muprespa, in which it has the presence of various experts in areas other than PRL.
