Fraternidad-Muprespa participates in the 15th edition of the Healthy Organizations Forum
The event was held through an event broadcast on YouTube and brought together nearly a thousand attendees. Under the title “2021: Km 0 of Organizational Happiness”, the initiative, framed in a time of health crisis, has focused on particularly topical themes, such as resilience or good practices within organizations.
In the section of the Forum 'Conversing with E1mpresas' the interventions were given by Natalia Fernández Chile. Both experts contributed their experience in the field of occupational health.
Fernández Laviada highlighted in his speech that the concept of happiness has evolved with the health, economic and social crisis derived from the pandemic. “Many individual and collective emotions have been awakened, with various psychological consequences in society and organizations.”
“Before Covid,” he assured, “there was talk of happiness at work and now there is more talk of mental health. The consumption of anxiolytics and antidepressants has increased by almost 15% according to the General Council of Colleges of Pharmacists, although Spaniards' abuse of benzodiazepines was already occurring before. Their consumption has increased by 60% in the last 15 years and is one of the highest in Europe: four times more than in Germany or the United Kingdom and even higher than in the United States.”
This fact has an impact on sick leave due to anxiety and depression, associated with a greater risk of long-term illness, permanent disability and relapses. “Between 20 and 30% of workers experience some relapse after returning to work,” he highlighted.
And according to the deputy director of the Mutua "the company is an ecosystem with its elements connected to each other. It works well when leaders and teams are good, but also when they know how to relate well. And for that, good mental health is needed in the company."
Fernández concluded his presentation with the following reflection: "In times of storm and uncertainty everyone looks to the captain of the ship, and the commanders are a model and reference, so it is important that they become agents of health and change. Fortunately, the good news is that this can be trained."
