Natalia Fernández Laviada presented the presentation "Communication in PRL. Justification of the need", in which he questioned whether, despite all the means we have at our disposal to be informed and connected, we are really better communicated than ever.
To achieve effective communication, he proposed three key ideas: the first is to optimally use all the channels, formats and media available in each organization. The second is to adapt the messages to the diverse realities of the companies to ensure that the messages resonate, generate a reaction and mobilize people. According to Fernández Laviada, this is what makes the difference between an ineffective ORP and one that truly transforms work environments. Finally, in his third piece of advice he highlighted the three “cs” necessary in corporate well-being messages: Preventive Culture, Clear Communication and Trust.
“The good name of the company, its prestige and its internal and external recognition will depend on a good reputation that generates trust.”, he explained, to add, by way of conclusion, that “It is communicated well when there is coherence in the message between what we are, what we do and what we say about well-being and occupational health and safety.”.
Next, a table of practical experiences of internal communication in ORP took place, in which representatives of various companies shared their options for improvement in the matter.
Together with the directors of companies such as Meliá, Deutz Spain and Lider Aliment, he participated Sergio Pastry Chef, responsible for the joint Prevention Service of CL GRUPO INDUSTRIAL, a mutual company of
Pastelero described, among other initiatives, the video pills developed for the company's staff, aimed at creating a culture of awareness that prevents workplace accidents and conveys in a direct, educational and entertaining way the visibility of the risks that exist in a steel plant.
At the end of the table, he took the floor Ismael Sánchez-Herrera, Preventive Culture consultant from VITALY, who described what ecosystems should be like to transform the culture of safety and health at work: credible, through appropriate channels, adapted to the audience, with a multidirectional flow, with focus and perspective.
In the last presentation of the day, Carmen Cassini, director of Prevyhub, assured that, in the field of occupational risk prevention, communication must be “attractive and adapted to the language and reality of the working people to whom the message is intended to create essential bonds of trust”.
The meeting ended with a brilliant closing by Pilar Bueno, General Director of Labor, who summarized and praised the importance of this type of conference.
