Santiago Toda Eraso is with a degree in Law from the University of Barcelona and a diploma in Tax Consulting, Payroll and Social Security from the Department of Labor of the Generalitat of Catalonia. He began his business career in 1989 practicing as a lawyer in Barcelona and in 1993 he also began to perform administrative manager functions.

In this interview he tells us what his professional journey has been like since the beginning, and the most important keys to his day-to-day life.

In 1989 you registered as a lawyer in Barcelona, can you tell us what the beginnings were like? More than 30 years have passed since then, how has your professional development evolved in recent years? times?

___HTMLT AG31___Mi He was registered as a lawyer in 1989, but in the agency he dealt withn mainly transport and traffic issues and until 1983 the subject of tax advice was practically not touched upon. Labor consulting and management began in 1993.

There have been many changes, since at the beginning no telematic procedures were carried out and the computer was used sporadically. The payrolls and TC1 and TC2 were done by hand. This computer topic alone marks a before and after.

In addition, the treatment with the Administration has also changed a lot, especially in recent years, in which the documentary presentation is done online and not in person as it was until shortly before the COVID19 pandemic. This has benefited in that a que the processing has been speeded up, but on the other hand side___has been lost in the humane treatment.

Since 1993 you have also worked as an administrative manager, what is the “star topic” that has been presented to you lately in this field? Is dealing with the Administration easy for you? What would you improve?

There are several star topics, but at the work level what we do most is advice and management of payroll, registrations and cancellations, although recently clients have begun to request issues of retirement.

As I have already mentioned before, dealing with the Administration is good, but I think that having to doit everything electronically sometimes poses a problem, since what is specific and requires some data or criteria The Administration is usually slow (when doing it electronically) and it would be good if in addition for certain topics there was contact in person at the level professional.

In 2004 LexNet began to work, what are the advantages and disadvantages that this tool represents for your work?

It is a legal platform for filing lawsuits, whichmay be good but I do not consider it effective, if we file lawsuits through LexNet we have to presentthe after in three days ___in paper format and that is not speeds up work.

___We are faced with a recent labor reform, what has this radical change in the types of employment contracts meant for your group? Do you think that the labor reform is appropriate and was necessary? Do you think that the drop in unemployment that we currently have is a consequence of the labor reform?

I think reducing the numbernumber of contracts, in principle it is good, although I consider thateven is too early to see the results. In any case, the temporary contract would have to be maintained for several groups.

I think that the current labor reform is not much different from the previous one and aun I have not seen the advantages and disadvantages, this will be seen with the time.

On the other hand,I think la The drop in unemployment has nothing to do with labor reform. It is a market issue, because regardless of the labor reform, if the market needs workers, unemployment will go down and if the economy does not work, unemployment will go up.This can be neutralized by increasing the hiring of civil servants or employees of the Administration itself.

___There are currently sectors with a lot of job offers and few job seekers, such as hospitality and construction. Do you think this will become a problem in the medium term?

Both the hospitality industry and construction are two very particular sectors, and in cada one of them exists in different cases. For example, in hospitality it is not the same to talk about a city restaurant as it is about a seasonal, night-time, leisure bar...

___

In the case of construction, a construction company that is dedicated to the activity of renovations, which would normally function as a company in another sector, is not the same as a construction company that is dedicated to new construction, in this case the work is finished and does not need personnel until new construction.

___How is your deal with mutual insurance companies? and with

In our case, the treatment with mutual insurance companies in general is very good, and in the case of Fraternidad-Muprespa it is extraordinary, in particular we are very happy with the manager, Águeda Carballo Costa, highlighting her excellent service to mutual employees.

___The Advisor's Corner is a tool integrated into the Mutual Fund's Digital Office, can you tell us about the advantages that this tool brings to your advice?

The website is very intuitive and easy to use handle. During the pandemic, when carrying out the CATA procedures, for example, it was quite comfortableor to navigate and carry out the procedures.

In the Advisor's Corner we have tools to inform us about the modifications and updates of the agreements, the cost simulator calculator and the jurisprudence and all this makes our work easier.

___To conclude, what would you ask the Mutual Fund so that you can improve the service you provide to your clients?

___

The Mutual Services, in general, are very well developed and in reality, I think there is little to improve in the service you offer.
